The board officially walked back the mandate today and I am honestly stunned by the outcome. This really belongs to all of you who took the time to speak up for our kids. I hope we can keep a close eye on things moving forward to make sure it stays …
This petition is for the people of Wayne County, Ga against the Board of Education and the Superintendent for the reverse decision on making masks mandatory for our children.
I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have added their names to this. If you could send the link to a few neighbors right now we might just hit one hundred signatures before the day is over.

Given the historical data on COVID-19 and the ongoing debate over whether masks are more harmful than beneficial to children and to school environments in general, we should protect the freedoms and statutory rights of students and parents by resting with the parents the decision whether their children should wear masks in school.

I am a grandmother and have no kids in this school system. However I am a 40 year nurse and the research does not prove that a mask will stop a virus. There is massive evidence of mask harm to those who for hours per day wear a mask. Stop the mandatory masking!

I know my child better than any school board member. As my child's parent i should have the choice of wether my child wears a mask or not.

Mandating of mask should be up to the parents. I am speaking up that this mandate should not be decided or forced by school board. Schools are public and there is not a state mandate at this time. Our taxes pay superintendents salary. It should be up to parents. Putting fear in children is a big NO for me!

I believe in vaccines and I also believe that masks can POSSIBLY prevent COVID-19. But more importantly I believe it should be a choice of the parent or child. Holding someone's education in the balance over a mask is not the right answer. These teacher's should assemble a panel of experts who is actually educated in virology before making a decision out of the education realm.

How is my child not wearing a mask hurting the child who is? Isn’t the mask there to protect the one who opts to wear it? Ridiculous!!
