This petition is in favor of mask choice for school aged children grades K-12. We are calling on our school board and district personnel to discontinue the mask mandate and act in the best interest of our children. Parents should have the choice of having their child wear a mask in school.
With teachers, staff and other adults all having had the opportunity to be fully vaccinated, the perceived risk of children spreading the virus to adults has been removed. The CDC has admitted that vaccinated people can be unmasked indoors with no social distancing required yet we continue to be forced to 'abide' by no science-backed proof that masks do anything.
There is no public health justification for forcing children to wear masks in school. When balanced against the physical, mental and emotional harm that is now becoming evident, it is clear that masks do more harm than good including anxiety and depressive feelings and a substantial increase in suicidal ideation.
We are hoping the signatures on this petition will motivate the Buffalo Trace School Districts to advocate for our children. We also know the common "our hands are tied due to BTHD guidelines" response is not sufficient and we will no longer tolerate it. We are calling on our school board and district personnel to discontinue the mask mandate and act in the best interest of our children. UNMASK OUR CHILDREN!

My daughter is so unhappy at school because of these masks. It is time for normalcy to return to the classroom.
Kids need to see faces to learn. This whole thing is ridiculous and needs to end now.
Unmask our children. The masking of our children is a far greater risk for short and or long term effects. Mask provides no preventative measures for a virus. Schools will be held accountable for any damages to otherwise healthy children.
STOP THE CONTROL. PARENTAL CHOICE MATTERS.
It isn’t up to the state or government on how we raise our kids this should be a parent choice not the state’s
