Honoring this thug who chose his own fate when he elected to commit a violent act and failed to follow lawful commands is ludicrous. It's a slap in the face to all the courageous men and women of law enforcement who protect and serve in San Francisco.
Elected officials have a duty to listen to the people. The people in San Francisco do NOT want a Day of Remembrance for a convicted felon. Neither do I. It is inappropriate and an affront to the police officers and law abiding citizens of San Francisco.
The city of SF is beyond comprehension. A career criminal being thought of as a hero. Nice SF. Also the rhetoric needs to go farther as no longer a sanctuary city. Grew up in this town and worked for it also in public safety. Not the place I grew up.
My father-in-law, Robert Hooper was SFPD killed in the line of duty. The "wacko crazy" man who killed him never served prison time for his crime. This Mario Woods Day is ludicrous, ridiculous and a slap in the face to those who serve and protect us all!!
Kate Steinle? How about Kate Steinle - honor a woman who was wLking with her beloved father, enjoying the day. Not someone with a knife threatening lives. Something is very wrong here. I will not go to SF and spend a dime. That is what needs to happen.

This should be a day to remember fallen police Sergeant Scott Lunger. This is the anniversary of his death in the line of duty. How disrespectful to the family and to police officers in general. You would honor a criminal on this day! Disgusting!
