This is an issue as Henley and Highbury are residential areas. Therefore the residents including;school children, old aged people, working class,children and old age home members as well as the biodiversity within the area will be affected by the carbon pollution.

The potential environmental impacts will be; air pollution due to toxic smoke emission such as sulphur dioxide from the furnace and water pollution as water will be required for the smelting process. This could contaminate the community's water supply. The possible health issues of concern are cardiovascular and respiratory diseases such as,asthma.

The community has until the 30th of May to voice their opinions on the matter.The community has got together a petition and that is still an ongoing process. As a community member I hope this petition will gain support.
