Given the nature of this course, in which our three exams were open book and open note, we find a closed book final exam to be unfair and would prefer an open book exam or other substitute. Having open note exams all semester, in which we were encouraged to use any source for answers, and then cramming for a closed note final does not foster positive study skills.
