I am creating this petition to try and get more phone time for federal inmates. As of right now federal inmates are only allowed 300 minutes a month to call their loved ones. These are not free minutes given out... they are only allowed to use the phone for 300 minutes a month. All state and county facilities allow unlimited phone access. Each phone call is only 15 min long. So 300 minutes only gives these guys and gals 20 phone calls a month to their loved ones and children. i understand that in order for them to be in there they have to have committed a crime. But it is unfair to punish us the family members and friends for their mistake. We didn't do anything wrong so why are we being punished? Please help me raise awareness so we can get them more time with their families. most federal inmates are at least 500 miles away from home which makes it hard on us family members to travel to see them and phone calls and letters are all we have.
