We need calls in jails to allow phone calls 24 hours a day so people inside can stay in touch with the people they love and trust.
Right now, many people in jail lose the chance to make a call past a certain time, even though being locked up does not stop life outside from moving forward. Families still face emergencies, bad news, and sudden changes. If something happens to a loved one, people in jail may not know until much later, and that kind of delay causes pain that lasts long after the call window has closed. It leaves people feeling cut off, helpless, and forgotten.
Keeping phone access open around the clock is a simple way to treat people with more dignity. It helps families stay connected, and it can also reduce tension inside jails. When people are able to reach support, settle worries, and hear from loved ones, it can make the whole place calmer and safer. Connection matters. Silence only makes stress grow.
We are asking jail officials to make phone calls available 24 hours a day, so people in jail are not cut off from their loved ones when they are needed most. No one should have to wait until it is too late just to hear a familiar voice.
this is important to me because i want to be able to contact my family, they don’t know when im free and it would be easier this way, its hard being away from a loved one especially when the communication bases is very here and there and not constant
