This petition is to support the placement of 2 privately purchased plaques, to be placed at separate locations within the City of Montgomery Alabama.
The first plaque we asking the city to place will be located at 3233 McElvy St., Montgomery, Alabama 36108. This is the site where Greg Gunn was killed by former Montgomery Police Officer Aaron Cody Smith in 2016.
The second plaque we are asking the city to place is for the front wall of the Montgomery Police Department, located at 320 N. Ripley St., Montgomery, Alabama. This plaque is to remember every life that has ever been lost while incarcerated within this facility, because a misdemeanor shouldn't earn you a morgue tag.

They deserve something on the wall for the. Loved ones lost, just like they do for the officers lives lost what about the loved ones that lost in that hell hole
Both plaques needed. The one at the police department will hopefully remind the law enforcement there that Alabama citizens are tired of their acting as judge, jury and punishment enforcer or executioner.
We need to remember the lives of all those who died incarcerated, and correct horrible prison conditions, or we can’t call ourselves Americans.
RIP Steven. The least the jail can do is to honor the lives that were lost under their authority.
It’s the least you can do, to acknowledge those who should have been safe in your custody.
