I am starting this petition to spread the word that on February 26, 2014 the decision to cancel Special Olympics was handed down from the Mingo County Special Education Department in Williamson, WV. We are told it has been canceled due to the fact that we have missed 14 instructional days because of inclement weather. I am asking for the concerned citizens of Mingo County, WV to stand up and voice their opinions and show that we will not allow our children to be treated different or be discriminated from.By signing this petition you are voicing your opinion in asking the Special Education Department Of Mingo County to reinstate the 2013-2014 Special Olympics.
I would like to take this time to thank each and every person that took time out of their day/night to help show support to the Students of Mingo County in getting Special Olympics back. People don't know how much it meant to see all the support for these students! It was amazing. Because of us sticking together in what we felt was right the Special Education Department has decided to reinstate the Special Olympics on May 28, 2014. If you are free on that day I hope that you can come out to volunteer, support, and cheer each and everyone of these kids on! Once again Thank You for your support for these kids!!
