Mingo County Special Education Department cancels Special Olympics

I,would like to take a second to say i am so ashamed to live in a town where the first thing they cut is SPECIAL OLYMPIC'S,I am a mother of 3 whom loves to watch my son play basketball,and think they should cancel that first before they take the one day a year away from special need's children who look forward to this one day for them where they feel normal for once,they work so much harder they have to,I am blessed with 3 wonderful kid's whom i have taught everyone is the same...

We can not control the weather and therefore the kids have nothing to do with the reason for cancelling.This,is all some kids have to look forward,I don't know how anyone could sleep at night knowing they are taking away something so special to so many.GOD BLESS EVERYONE...
Tell me again who's decision it was to cancel Special Olympics??? What kind of person would do such a thing?? This may not b important to you but it is to me and my grandchild. SO I would ask u to reconsider.

stop all pep rally's like Burch middel had this week in the school that they toke the kids out of class, stop all sports that the school are having. stop all of the in school club activity that is going on, that way the kids can have more in class school learning

It's wrong, plain and simple, to penalize these children. Your politics mean nothing to their growth, development, and encouragement.

Special education students deserve to have their sporting events as much as the other students need football and basketball. Does this mean any away games that require athletes to have early diismissal will be canceled as well? It's only fair after all that ALL students be treated equally when it comes to sporting activities.

This is TERRIBLE. they have a hard time as it is and with this it stimulates activity. Most of all try have fun!! You should be ASHAMED!!!!!!!
This is wrong to deny these Special Children their Special Olympics and a time should be made available for this. Maybe, After school hours or a weekend could be made available for this and maybe a extra day could be added to the school years just for Mingo County Educational Special Olympics.

i would hate see anything being cut out for the kids but s.o. is only 1 day these kids need that one day

This is so wrong. If they don't have time for the Special Olympics then I guess they should cancel baseball season also.

this nothing but discrimination. It is not their fault that instructional days have been missed. Make them up another day!

alot of the kids look forward to this all year ...i think it helps show them that they are winners which helps become more independent and stronger as they grow into adulthood...some people this as nothing but these kids need this for now and for their future

I dont understand why you wouldn't be having this these babies need something special also this is shaeful on your part to be so inconsiderate of these kids i myself would love to see the smiles on their faces.
