Patricia's "Meet My Mississippi" captures the essence of our state, our traditions, and our history, as well as our state's contribution to the arts. I love the positive her poems represent for our Mississippi!!
I live very far away from where I grew up in MS and through Patricia's wonderful writings and posts, she brings my state back to me in so many ways. Please consider her poem as state poem. You won't find a better ambassador for the positive aspect of the state that we all know exist.
As an educator, there is no poem more culturally relevant to our great state than "Meet My Mississippi." I'd be honored to teach this phenomenal piece of work!
This lady has a distinct way of glorifying our Mississippi in ever poem!!!! I think perhaps, a branch off the MS River must flow thrust her veins cause it just spills out on the page!!!
Born and raised in the Delta, Patricia gives voice to the haunting charm of my place of birth. She deserves this honor and would be a wonderful representative for the state.

Patricia Neely-Dorsey doesn't just highlight the rich culture of Mississippi, she adds to it. Meet My Mississippi should be displayed in every welcome center throughout our state. I urge you to adopt it as our official state poem.
