I am truly overwhelmed by the lovely notes many of you have left about why this poem resonates with your love for our state. It never occurred to me that so many people felt this same connection to the words. This really belongs to all of you who took the time to read it and agree.

I am truly overwhelmed by the way this poem has resonated with so many of you. Watching this momentum build is entirely due to your love for our state and its history, and I feel so lucky to be a small part of this journey.

Another terrible day in Afghanistan. Thank you to those who gave their lives for our freedom. Our hearts are with the families of those brave soldiers.

I am truly overwhelmed by the way this poem has resonated with so many of you. Watching this momentum build is entirely due to your love for our state and its history, and I feel so lucky to be a small part of this journey.

This brave sailor meant well , and missed his home as this poem was composed. That fact and his being overseas fighting for our country more than merits this lovely thoughful piece be given the recognition it truly deserves. The political correctness issue doess not pertain to the poem and its place as a state poem. i am appaled that anyone should invoke any isue other than praising the poets intent to show his love and admiration for his chosen state.
