The county commissioners finally caved and approved the funding for our shelter. After months of them ignoring our local crisis, they had no choice but to listen to us. I will be watching them like a hawk to ensure those funds actually reach the animals.

The momentum we have built proves that the county officials can no longer ignore the suffering of animals on our streets. They think they can keep turning a blind eye to this neglect, but this surge in support shows them exactly where the public stands.

This will help cut down on the strays, and even help the wild life population which suffer from predation by stray domestic animals.
Definitely needed!!! As a former biz owner on square I have seen many lost/ abandoned animals in town over a time frame of 13 years and many more out in the county
We need an animal shelter in Moore county. Downy road people drop mostly cats but a few dogs. I would keep them all but I can't afford it. Please help us get a shelter.
i have been involved with this group from the beginning and know the efforts being put into this.. i have seen first hand what we add a group have done and the animals we have already found homes for that have been abandoned and neglected... add secretary of this group i hope u will sign this because moore county needs this shelter..
The need for a shelter and the commitment to meet this need in our community is a documented fact through the valiant efforts of the Moore County Friends for Animals. Moore County is a strong community that should take care of its own and not rely on neighboring counties to manage our pet population.
Give them an animal shelter
There is a need for a physical shelter in the Lynchburg area...please be a part of the solution to finding homes for homeless animals and giving them a safe refuge until that day. TNR too!!

Would love to see them be No Kill and also implement a TNR program for feral cats at the same time.
