I truly believe in the fact that individuals can be responsible for their own actions. We should not be told we cannot enjoy something as traditional as fireworks. Sure, ground based devices are legal, but we should not be limited in our selection just because a few people are irresponsible. Currently people hide the "illegal" fireworks they use and this makes things more dangerous. If there were no fear of punishment for using them, people would likely use them in a safe manner consistently. Add to that the fact that Fireworks showrooms could them open up throughout Maryland offering the entire line of products, which would generate a lot of money in taxes to fund the state programs. More emphasis would be placed on safety and less concern with secrecy. Things to consider â
