The Maryknoll School Civil Air Patrol Program is going through a command and operational change without needed transparency consideration to parents, students, and school. A hard deadline of October 18, 2019 has been given for these changes. Maryknoll Squadron Civil Air Patrol courses are taught daily and are continuous for the entire school year, accredited by WASC and HAIS. These courses are tied into cumulative graduation credits. These changes may pose a detriment to our students' graduation requirements. We are petitioning for complete transparency as to the reasons for all operational changes and a "stay" from the current deadline of October 18, 2019 until June 30, 2020 so these changes won't affect cadet graduation credits for this school year and retain our school program and curriculum as is.

The momentum is incredible. This shows how seriously everyone takes our students' graduation requirements.

I recommend to delay the Change of Command issue and not to disrupt the CAP program at Maryknoll School until the end of the school year allowing time to provide clarity on plans for the Maryknoll Squadron and come to a resolution that is in the best interest for the cadets.

Transparency is the best disinfectant to ensure that everything is being done on the up and up! Please give parents the insight they need to make informed decisions for their kids.

Please do not penalize the students that are in the current program especially the seniors.. CAP is a great program, my son was in for 4 years and have taught him self discipline, confidence and leadership. Thank you.

My son is a senior at Maryknoll High School and changes to this program may impact his ability to graduate on time and attend college next fall.

This CAP program is a beneficial program for the future of my son who is interested in becoming a pilot and joining the U.S. Air Force to follow in his Father’s footsteps. Maryknoll School’s CAP program is the main reason our family had chosen for our son to attend this fine school.

I was so exited to be in cap because this was a new experience for me. My dad who passed away was in the Air Force. I thought this would be a good way to learn about the military. please don’t take away this program from maryknoll.

It would be a huge disservice to the people in CAP to get rid of it !!

I have been apart of the Maryknoll Cadet Squadron since August of 2016 and have attended both the meetings and the classes offered on Friday nights and during regular classes in Maryknoll High School. As a cadet and as a student I have learned life lessons that I will never forget from my leaders and teachers that have transformed me into the person that I am today. I have made wonderful friends through this program, friends that I will forever remember and cherish. Because of this program I have been able to take major steps into accomplishing life goals and push myself to accomplish more than I have ever thought that I could. It's because of this program that I have been to Washington D.C. and New York for Legislative day and to Fremont, Nebraska for a National Flight Academy. This program has done so much for me in these past 3 years and it greatly saddens me that there is a possibility that it can be changed and taken away. Especially because the younger cadets won't be able to experience what I have gotten to experience from this amazing program. This program is made for and ran by the cadets and a change in how this squadron operates could jeopardize the experience and lessons that they could learn. As a Senior in High school I am in my last year in the cadet program and so if changes are made to this squadron it will affect me slightly, it'll really affect the newer and younger cadets the most. So in the interest in keeping the program that has made me and my friends and fellow cadets the people we are today I ask that the program does not change and stays how it currently is.
