We, the undersigned, are concerned about the educational welfare of our children. We are asking the district to seriously address the following:

1. Rezone the off base housing on the east side of the 16 as it was stated in the letter dated 17 Jan 2024. A map provided, indicated conflicting information on zoning for Sullivans Elementary School. To date; many families and children are living in off base housing as there is insufficient base housing available. The young children are negatively impacted by the situation as their travel time to and from school is excessive and there is no transportation provided.

2. Allow approved waiver students to ride the school bus along with all the other off base students currently in the zone. The lack of bus transportation places a huge burden on working parents and/or added expense for public transportation.

3. Participate in a Town Hall meeting set at an agreed time and place such that parents of off base children and district officials can share concerns and issues regarding the best interests of our children. Military children and families navigate a tremendous level of change and disruption in their lives. School should be one consistent place where children feel safe, and comfortable. We want the district to help us to provide the least disruptive and most educationally sound solution for our children.

Our children's education should not be made to suffer based on policies and guidelines arbitrarily changed and enforced without due consideration by those effected.

The yearly shrinkage of the bussing area should be addressed too. People who previously lived in district for the middle/high school and were offered bussing are now out of district because of this shrinkage.

Military connected children already sacrifice enough, education and stability should not be one of them.

If I live closer to the main base then my child should be able to attended the main base especially if the family is working on the main base at different ours. For if something occurs I am the one that must get my child and the time it takes is too long I’m case of an emergency

I agree! The rezoning had many second and third order effects that need to be addressed!
