Mardi Gras Zone is asking for a zoning change so that we may apply for a alcoholic beverage license in conjunction with the on going grocery operation. With out being able to sell alcoholic beverages we are not able to furnish our customers with all their needs and puts Mardi Gras Zone at a disadvantage when competing with other supermarkets. Please sign the petition to allow Mardi Gras Zone 2706 Royal St. on the corner of Port St. To be able to sell alcoholic beverages. If you have any question please contact us at 504, 947 8787. Thank you for your help PLEASE NOTE IF YOU HAVE ALREADY SIGNED A PETITION ABOUT THIS PLEASE DO NOT SIGN AGAIN WE CANNOT HAVE DUPLICATE SIGNITURES.
I have been spending my mornings at the zoning office to make sure our paperwork is airtight for the upcoming review. This store is part of the soul of this corner and I am grateful for the neighborhood regulars who stop by to ask how this process is moving along.

Seeing this kind of support for our corner store leaves me truly overwhelmed. This neighborhood has been my life for years and knowing you are behind us makes this fight feel possible.

I agree. You should be able to sell liquor. Every two blocks down there is a place to get alcohol. If OI am not mistaken, that is a mixed-use corridor, I don't see why the council cannot approve a variance.

This store was there early on, after the levee failure, making a point to provide food when no other stores would touch the area. In fact, there are still no local stores in the area that offer as many goods. Allow them to have an alcoholic license.

you can buy liquor at gas stations in this state. You ought to be able to buy it in a mostly pedestrian neighborhood...

It would be great convenience for their regular customers with limited means of transportation. One-stop shopping is a time-saver, and for those who drive a fuel-saver. Fewer trips mean less traffic in our densely populated neighborhood.

Many people in the Bywater and Marigny area depend on Mardi Gras Zone for their grocery needs. Lots of people in this area don't have cars. It would be a great service to the community if alcohol was available at this store.

Mardi Gras is the coolest bar there is except they don't sell liquor. They should be able to do this! I come all the wAy from St Louis because of this store! What a non New Orleans could there be than a store named Mardi Gras and not be able to sell alcohol?
