This crossing is dangerous and it is only a question of time before a serious accident occurs. We all witness cars which do not stop for the lights. The lights are not fit for purpose, nor is there any signage advising that the crossing is oncoming.
Our suggestions to improve road safety are:
The lights should change like regular lights from red to green.
Signage is installed to warn motorists that they are approaching a crossing with children crossing.
Speed bumps are installed.
Please sign, our safety is in everyone's hands!

The local transit authority is still ignoring our emails despite the mounting danger at this intersection. I am tired of seeing drivers blow through those lights while children are standing on the curb. We are escalating this to the city council now to force these bureaucrats to pay attention.

The city officials continue to ignore our pleas while our neighbors take their lives into their own hands every single day. Seeing this movement explode proves that the community is finished waiting for a tragedy to force their hand.

Police should impose hefty fine on those arrogant motorists who don't respect pedestrian crossings!!
Owners Associations are not fully functional yet but Developer has been notified of this on many occasions and advised repeatedly about their responsibilities in the event of any future incidents. Lucky so far there does not seem to have been any serious injury.
Additional suggestion to consider: Red light cameras to catch drivers who jump the lights
Totally agree with this. We also need crossings on the slip roads, especially near byiliding 5 with the new villas being built. Traffic down that part will only get worse.
I pass the road on a regular basis with my child. Once his bike was hit, luckily he wasn't on it as I was carrying it. Driver just continued. It's only matter of time until someone is seriously hurt. Unfortunately, that's when something may be done. I suggest you contact your owners association and ask to send an email out to all owners/ tenants to get the numbers up

The accident which happened yesterday morning was utterly shocking and horrifying . Our neighbours lost their beloved dog and nanny is seriously injured in hospital . I cross this crossing every day and night to walk my dog I am utterly terrified and devastated by this . There have been countless times where I have seen cars go through red light on this crossing and all other palm crossings . People also drive insanely fast in rush to pass before light goes red. Traffics light isn’t even properly visible, there are no jumps there are no cameras. Lives are being lost! Please can RTA take this seriously and implement rapid change and safety measures . We beg you to take this matter seriously RTA and Nakheel .
