Pepper spray can be used as a self defense method against attackers. While temporarily stopping the assailant, it will not leave any long term damage. It is a must for any woman, especially in an area as vast and populated as New York City. However it is near impossible to get a hold of by a regular citizen, and one will need a background check done on them to acquire pepper spray. New York is one of the only states that has banned the online purchase of pepper spray. Please make a change and help provide safety by overturning this law and making pepper spray easily accessible to any New York resident.
