Make Shenandoah Hills Great Again!

For the most part our neighborhood is quiet and uneventful. It has become increasingly clear though, that 2 particular streets/ intersections in this neighborhood, Cardinal Lane and the corner of Hites and O'Briens Dr. has become quite a thoroughfare to cut from Greenwood Rd to Berryville Rd/Rte 7. Cars, trucks, mopeds, scooters, SUV's all come flying down these roads at alarming speeds, in excess of 40 MPH. With no sidewalks in this neighborhood this presents a distinct safety hazard to both pedestrians and especially our school-aged children waiting at bus stops as well as boarding and deboarding the schoolbuses in the late afternoons when traffic volume is at its highest
We, the residents of Shenandoah Hills subdivision, in Winchester, VA propose a posted speed limit sign of 25 MPH OR two more stop signs at the corner of Dogwood and Cardinal Lane and the corner of Hites and Obriens Dr, as well as a Slow- Children At Play sign.
The neighborhood you live in should feel safe and make you feel like walking around it. As it is, with these streets being such a widely traveled passage, the neighborhood is far from safe. Please take this matter seriously and do the right thing for the residents of Shenandoah Hills. Make Shenandoah Hills the neighborhood everyone feels safe in.
