Please support us in fighting tomake the cut through from Morecambe Close/Beaumont square to Stepney Way E1safe.

For years this cut through/alley way has set the scene for many vicious, unprovoked attacks and muggings.

Andrew is just one of the latest victims.

At approximately 8pm Tuesday 02-09-14 he was walking through to get a pint of milk and visit his friend from church when he was set upon from behind by around 10 teenage Asian youths. They were hitting him with wooden and metal bars demanding his watch and phone.

Andrew done his best to defend himself but was still left with 11 staples to his head and other wounds glued.

There are 63 properties in Morecambe close housing mainly the elderly. This cut through is very busy and we need to make people feel safe.

We would like:

- Better lighting

-the trees cut back

-CCTV ( with signage to deter predators)

If this cannot be done due to expensive maintenance/up keep for the CCTV an alternative optionwould be to put a metal gate along the entrance on Stepney way to match the one that is on the other side of Morecambe close with an accessible gate with keys for local residence.
