Let's be real here. The campus Launderette is daylight robbery.

Circuit laundry is grossly overpriced. It's £2 for the card just for the ability to buy credit, then when you do top up it's £5 minimum top up price. Your first wash will cost a staggering £7 as a result. If you wash your clothes weekly then that's £70 a semester when most students are paying anywhere between £90-125 a week for rent. For services that are frankly substandard in most halls and have maintenance issues every month.

We spend approximately £9,250+ on our academic courses and £90-120 a week for rent and somehow this doesn't cover us being able to have clean clothes?

Where does this money go? Certainly not to working machines; the dryers take 2 cycles to get your clothes even close to dry, and you can't do 2 dries on the £5 minimum top up value. That means it will cost around £6.80 to wash and nearly fully dry your clothes. Then when we have clothes airers in halls we're told to take them down because they're somehow a hazard.

I think we as students deserve a free laundry for the money for the price we're paying for education and housing. It's just hot water and electric, we get this for free in our halls so why not in the laundry?

The number of signatures continues to rise as more students recognize the financial burden of our current laundry costs. We are nearing the two hundred and fifty signature mark and reaching this threshold will significantly improve our position when we present this issue to the university administration.

Why isn't this free already? I am paying less money next year to stay in housing and receive all white goods in with my tenancy meaning FREE washing. Enough said really.

I don’t think it needs to be free but it definently needs to be cheaper. To wash my clothes and bedding and get them dry is a tenner and that’s ridiculous, especially given that I provide my own tablets and half of the machines are broken anyway

Considering the fact the reliability of these washing machines are already questionable, with frequent issues with the QR scanner system when making payment, I've experienced issues where I've been charged for no service. Payment for this system is absurd and seriously needs revising.

Half the time the dryers don't even work so i have to use them twice. Circuit laundry is bad enough as it is, it should at least be free

It too costly when using it weekly, we’re paying enough for accommodation as it is, especially when my parents have got to put an extra £1,600 to my accommodation!!

I live in College Court at £130 a week for £5070 a year, plus the £9250 a year to study here and £30-£40 a week for groceries - I just want to be able to focus on my studies - why should I have to pay just to have clean clothes???
