We, the residents of Norton Common's North Village, kindly request the implementation of 24/7 access to our mailboxes, similar to the access enjoyed by residents of NC South Village.
Currently, the communal post office often closes during the day, even during standard business hours. This poses significant challenges for residents, particularly our elderly neighbors and those with mobility issues, who struggle to retrieve their mail. The inconvenience of walking several blocks only to find the post office locked is both frustrating and disheartening.
We urge our community leaders and the postal service to prioritize this issue and consider two viable solutions: either implementing 24/7 access to the post office or providing individual mailboxes for each resident.

The phone calls and emails to the post office have mostly been met with silence or empty promises. It is exhausting to keep pushing when the walls seem this thick but I am not walking away from this fight.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that my frustration is shared by so many of you. It has been a long road already but these signs of interest give me the strength to push harder against the locked doors. We are keeping at this until the mail is actually accessible to everyone.

1st of all, I’m tired that some of my mail goes in somebody else’s mailbox. Thank goodness they know me and gives me the mail they received. I wonder if that’s no against the law for my personal mail gets put in somebody else’s mailbox?? My tax forms were put in somebody else’s box. That’s a big no no.
The current mail situation is NOT working. Too frequently I can’t get in during lunch hours when I stop home, or even after work at 5-5:30pm. This is ridiculous!
The current system doesn’t work, it can add 2 days to receiving a check and getting it to the bank to use my funds.
Parking must be addressed as well. The spots immediately in front of the post office should be limited to 10 minute parking only.
Our packages for our store Taylor Lee Comfort that are sent via usps end up stuck or unaccessible.
Please fix the mail situation
It’s super frustrating that it’s closed for over an hour daily and the closing times are not consistent.

The communal post office is is a total mess. Mail delivered to the wrong boxes, irregular hours for access and limited street parking. Why not place post boxes at the end of each street?
