Every head of state deserves a well maintained residence and we are ashamed that successive governments have allowed Your Majesty's residence in London to fall into a state of disrepair. We pledge ourselves to support the refurbishment promised by Your government and use this petition to do so.

The volume of support has now reached a point that allows me to formally schedule a meeting with parliamentary representatives to present our formal petition. I am currently finalizing the cover letter to accompany the printed signatures for their review. Please look for further updates once the submission process begins.

Buckingham Palace has been neglected for years - it must be preserved. It is not owned by the Queen but by the country therefore the country should pay for the repairs. It will cost a lot less than the repairs being done to the Houses of Parliament!!!
Of course we must look after our history. It is so important for the people's future
ThevRoyal Family do not own Buckingham Palace the state does. So the country has to pay.
Not a citizen buy truly believe every country should maintain its heritage...especially in this case where the state NOT the 'tenant' owns the building! Nobody asks Obama to fund maintenance of the White House!0
I am convinced that the Monarchy is of great value to this Country and is an integral part of our British identity.

When the Queen dies buck house will become a major tourist attraction so of course it has to be refurbished, and quite right too, think of the tourist income from opening up the house.
