When the Queen dies buck house will become a major tourist attraction so of course it has to be refurbished, and quite right too, think of the tourist income from opening up the house.

Buckingham Palace has been neglected for years - it must be preserved. It is not owned by the Queen but by the country therefore the country should pay for the repairs. It will cost a lot less than the repairs being done to the Houses of Parliament!!!

Buckingham Palace is NOT owned by the Queen and we need to keep this building in good repair for the variety of things it is used for.

Yet another social media storm without recourse to the facts. The Palace belongs to the UK, not the Queen and generates far more in income than can possibly be accurately gauged and certainly far more than the cost of much delayed repairs. I propose that we ask if Her Majesty would be prepared to undertake a world tour in a new Royal Yacht, paid for by the tax payer and private donations whilst the repairs get underway. The goodwill and income such a tour would generate for the U.K. economy would I suspect amply cover the cost of the yacht and repairs to the Palace.

Her Majesty doesn't own Buck Pal, the state who is responsible for repairing its own properties.
Get real and don't be mislead by the media

I am not against the Queen or the Royal Family, but she is one of the richest people in the World and her subjects will end up paying her bills for her, unbelievable!!! She does not pay for my house repairs and I would not ask her to so why is she asking me, a taxpayer to pay for her lifestyle. The Government even gave her an increase of 66% and I can't even get MY pension for another 5 years when I will be almost 67. It is a disgrace.

Not a citizen buy truly believe every country should maintain its heritage...especially in this case where the state NOT the 'tenant' owns the building! Nobody asks Obama to fund maintenance of the White House!0
