We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister and the Chancellor to safeguard the £220 million allocated to Tower Hamlets, by the previous Labour Government, to finish its Decent Homes programme. We welcome the Prime Minister’s recognition of our local need, and that "good quality social housing is vital...".
However, we highlight that this investment is crucial if we are to bring the remaining 7,000 council homes up to the national Decent Homes standard – making sure these homes are safe, warm, and secure for so many families suffering from poor housing and overcrowding. We call on the Government not to let these local residents down.

im honestly blown away by the momentum we have right now. it feels like people are really starting to pay attention to these 7000 homes and the families living in them.

long overdue. stop cutting corners with where people live.
THESE PLACES ARE A DISGRACE. People pay rent for decent living conditions not this dump. Just give us the money promised.

My flat is freezing cold every winter and the windows are literally falling apart. Fix our homes properly before someone gets sick.
