The permits for the East River Park field are finally approved. It has been a long and exhausting road but the program is officially a go for our kids. Thank you for sticking with this when things felt impossible.

We, the undersigned, support Downtown United Soccer Club’s efforts to obtain the necessary field space permits at the East River Park sufficient to operate their Recreation Soccer Program for our children.

We need safe, local and free play spaces in our neighborhood where our children can play.

*************************************************************************************************

The amount of people backing this request is proof that our neighborhood is tired of being ignored. I am exhausted by the constant uphill battle for these permits but seeing this level of momentum keeps me moving forward.

The path forward has been exhausting and progress is slower than I hoped. We are hovering just shy of our next goal so please put this in front of anyone who cares about our neighborhood parks today.

DUSC is a big reason why we love raising kids in the city. It is important to have local access to the fields so the kids can learn soccer and teamwork. These fields provide bicycle access directly from our home. Access to these fields will help build our community. Thank you for considering this permit request!

DUSC provides an essential service to the downtown community, introducing soccer to so many children. At a time that health experts are so worried about children developing sedentary habits we should be doing everything we can to support DUSC to have access to fields so that more kids can play soccer!

soccer is the best sport for all kids! every age, every size, girls and boys.. And there are not enough places for them to play. We live on the Lower East Side and our two boys have played with DUSC for years. It's a first-rate organization, serving thousands of kids.. Please approve their permit request!

DUSC will be displaced for the restructuring of Pier 40. Please keep such a vital part of the Downtown community alive and striving. The field space would greatly support this valuable program.

We support DUSC effort to secure the fields along the East River. We live in Brooklyn and our kids are hoping to play soccer with DUSC. This location is so ideal and much more accessible for our family.
