We, the concerned residents and soccer enthusiasts of Los Angeles, call for immediate action to protect the integrity and accessibility of the "Pan Pacific Park Soccer Field." This beloved community space is meant for the enjoyment and recreation of the people, but we have noticed a concerning trend of profiteering during the crucial evening hours, from 6 pm to 10:30 pm.
We are calling for an important change regarding the "Pan Pacific Park Soccer Field", a pay facility that we believe can better serve our local community. Specifically, we demand that this field be made available for local groups to lease during evening hours and, if unleased, provided for public use free of charge.
The "Pan Pacific Park Soccer Field" has been a hub for soccer players and families for years. It serves as a place where children and adults can come together to engage in healthy physical activity, build relationships, and enjoy the beautiful game of soccer. However, recent actions by profiteers are threatening the core values of our park.
Our Demands:
We, the undersigned, call for the following actions regarding the "Pan Pacific Park Soccer Field":
- Local Group Leasing: Make the soccer field available for local community groups to lease during the evening hours (6pm - 10:30) allowing them to utilize the space for a reasonable fee.
- Free Public Access: If the facility has not been leased for a specific evening, it should be made available to the general public for free use during those hours.
- Inclusive Policies: Implement policies that ensure fair and equitable access to the field for all community members, regardless of their economic background.

The administration has acknowledged the volume of our request and agreed to a meeting next week to discuss the evening permit system. I am currently finalizing a formal proposal that outlines the transition to a local leasing model for these hours.

Ridiculous that we have to fight to use our own park when it sits empty. Open it up for the neighborhood kids already.
The court needs to be available for the general public. Otherwise what is this park system for exactly. Thanks for understanding.
