This petition is for those who are unable to attend the public input meeting on April 25th but still wish to have their voices heard and express their support for soccer fields with proper lighting and accessibility at the new park development (West Metro Core) at Levin Dashiell Rd in Hebron, MD.
We, the undersigned, urge Wicomico County Recreation and Parks to prioritize the inclusion of soccer fields with proper lighting in the new park development at Levin Dashiell Rd in Hebron. The removal of soccer fields at the Henry S. Parker Complex has left our community in need of accessible and well-equipped soccer facilities. Although we understand that multiple plans may be presented at the upcoming public input meeting on April 25th, and we have not seen the plans yet, we want to ensure that our concerns are heard. While we acknowledge the strong support for additional baseball and softball fields, it is crucial to address the growing demand for soccer fields in our community. By signing this petition, we show our support for a park plan that includes soccer fields with adequate lighting and accessibility for all, ensuring a fair allocation of resources for the diverse sports interests within our community.

Al public high schools and county parks across the state have many state of the art turf complexes, except Wicomico county. We need the same access to high quality fields as the western shore has.
We are in desperate need of soccer fields in Wicomico county and creating new fields WITH lights greatly expands the times with witch the fields can be fully utilized. Lights will allow for more games per day which will allow teams to have more games per season, especially adult leagues.
Adding lighted soccer fields to the county is only fair. Removing the fields at Henry Parker effectively destroyed the most popular parks and rec sport left in the county. New facilities will help build soccer participation back to past levels in Wicomico.
We cannot be a county that only supports one sport. As a soccer manager, I never understood how there are no fields available to rent!
We need to replace the soccer fields that were unjustly removed from the complex on Naylor Mill Rd. Soccer needs to be revitalized through the county for an affordable and fun option for all Wicomico County residents. Soccer fields can also be used by field hockey and lacrosse which makes these fields more versatile and appealing. Soccer should not be played in the outfield of a baseball/softball diamond. Winter place is inadequate due to the large holes in the fields and retention of water on the fields. The proper sized field also cannot be utilized is such a small, after-thought area like winter place. Give the Wicomico County residents what they deserve. Amazing soccer fields that were taken from them. With lights and bleachers.
This is a critical need!!

The amount of Soccer that is played in Wicomico County from Rec to Club and Travel is over 1000 plus. As the most populated County on the Shore we need dedicated Soccer Fields for the kids!
