We the undersigned are urging Manchester City Council to CPO [Compulsary Purchase Order] London Road Fire Station and take it out of the hands of the current owners who despite owning the building for over 15 years have yet to come up with any credible plan to develop it. The building is a jewel in the heart of Manchester and has been left to rot, we feel this is unacceptable and cannot continue. The recent 'proposals' are not worthy of this grand building, we feel the council will recognize this and should CPO the building at the first opportunity. We would like the building to be restored to it's former glory and the current owners seem unable or unwilling to do this.
The persistent decay of this landmark remains a source of frustration for many of us who walk past it daily. I have been in contact with local representatives to ensure they understand that the community expects a more responsible future for this building than what the current owners have provided.

Reaching this level of support confirms that the community shares a deep frustration regarding the current state of such an iconic building. It shows that there is a collective desire to see this historic site treated with the respect and urgency it truly deserves.

15 years is an absolute joke. They are just sitting on it waiting for it to fall down so they can build flats. CPO is the only way.

Used to be so beautiful. Breaks my heart seeing it in this state.

Enough is enough. Take it off them. This should have happened a decade ago.

London Rd fire station is iconic. Manchester deserves better than a rotting shell in the city centre. Do something now!

Sick of walking past this eyesore every day. It is a total disgrace that they let our history just crumble away. Fix it or let someone else do it!
