As members of Local 39, and employees of the City of Sacramento we wish to voice our opinion in the current concession negotiations between these two entities. We believe Local 39 should agree to the current proposal from the City as follows:
1. 3 year contract from 6/19/10 thru June 2013
2. 4% reduction in salaries effective June 19, 2010
3. 5% increase in salaries effective June 30, 2012
4. 1 furlough day per month for the term of the contract
5. Salary step increases suspended until June 29, 2013. On June 29, 2013, salary steps will be advanced to the step that they would have been had the salary step increases not been suspended.
We know there are no "good" options left for the City or Local 39. The time has come to compromise.
Sacramento City Council Resolution #97-400 - Decertification Procedures
A decertification petition may be filed w/the Employee Relations Officer by employees or an employee organization to determine whether or not a recognized employee organization continues to represent a majority of the employees in the representation unit. Needed: Proof of employee approval equal to at least 30 % of the employees w/in the representation unit. We need 466 signatures! So please, please, please, pass this on! Together our voice can be heard.

The feedback received over the past several days confirms that many of us are weary of the current negotiation impasse. I am currently working to verify the next steps required to present this petition to the appropriate city officials.

this is the only realistic offer on the table. stop holding us hostage and let us vote.
Enough with the stubbornness. Everyone knows the city is broke. Just take the deal so we can move on with our lives.
Local 39 needs to stop playing games. We need a contract now!
my family cant afford any more cuts but this looks like the only way to keep things stable. just get it done.
Sacramento is struggling and we all need to chip in a little. The union is out of touch with reality.

Total joke how long this is dragging out. Take the compromise and lets get back to work already.
