We, the undersigned, feel the risks to Lions Bay, should this tower be approved, to be too great.
We are concerned about the risks from a technology that has no long term study proving without a doubt it is safe, that in Europe, scientists and doctors are petitioning for a moratorium on its roll out, and has pages of anecdotal evidence professing to its danger.
A technology that we will not know for sure is not damaging, until it is too late.
How can we live under the style ‘Splendour in Serenity’ when Lions Bay’s mountain panorama will be forever blighted by this tower? With no research based guarantees that cell reception will be improved we risk losing our legendary and iconic vistas based on an uncertainty.
Furthermore, with the income received from this tower installation being less than even half that generated by parking fees alone this year, Lions Bay doesn’t need money from this source.
Lions Bay risks its residents’ well being, it's biodiversity, vistas, property values and reputation with no guarantee of a significant cell service improvement, and we feel these risks are just too considerable for this project to proceed.

Residents should be informed of all the details of what a tower of this nature entails regarding finances, precise appearance, benefits and possible detrimental effects before the village agrees to permit the erection of the said tower. At this point in time I feel the tower should not be approved.
This is ridiculous "ask" for a community with a densification of 532 homes, and limited amenities. Cripes! We don't even have street lights or stop signs. Put a 1st gen 5G cel tower in West Vancouver, on Bowen and in Squamish. Then we'll have coverage. If it's a cash grab, then scale back on office supplies, admin or Bylaw enforcement.
There are so many reasons outlined above and elsewhere why a tower in Lions Bay is a bad idea. If you do suffer bad cell coverage, it could be the result of many factors that an ugly and potentially dangerous tower in Lions Bay is never likely to solve, including: - Trees and foliage. Excessive greenery harms your signal. According to various sources, pine trees are notorious for this. - Certain construction materials. Some of the worst offenders are solid wood, concrete and metal. A metal roof can have a huge negative effect on your signal. - Your provider. Ask around. Coverage can vary a lot. Changing providers might completely solve your problem.
I took a long time to come to this position, but in the end, I would prefer to pay the extra $15/year/resident in order to not have the health risk.
I moved to Lions Bay specifically for the low EMF environment. I think it’s a big mistake to put 5G into this area known for its natural environment.
Knowing all the facts we need to research way more before deciding on this.

The Science is there - this is not work the health risk. I lived in an area where power lines were abundant, so were brain tumors in children under 9... so was breast cancer ... not going to take a chance on an un-managed cash grab. Once its in, it will take forever to prove it as harmful.
