I am honestly shaking while typing this because the council actually voted to strike down the breed ban. It is finally over and these dogs can stay in their homes where they belong. Thank you for showing up for the pups even when it felt like nobody was listening.

This is for the current residents of Augusta, KS who are against the ban on dog breeds and want it to be lifted. You must be a current resident to participate!

Please I can not stress enough you must live in Augusta to be able to sign your name! It will not help the cause if you sign and do not live here. In fact it can hurt against us working towards this.

I have been spending so much time talking to neighbors lately and the stories about these dogs are just breaking my heart because they really are family members to so many folks here. It feels like the city is just ignoring us at this point but honestly that makes me want to push even harder because we deserve to keep our pets in our own homes.

This ban has caused a lot of grief for people who own, or have owned these dogs and dogs that just look like a pit bull. I can't see where anything good has been accomplished by this ordinance. Address the abusive and neglectful owners instead.

Lift the ban! It is unfair and unjustified! These dogs can make wonderful family pets. Any mistreated or neglected dog can be a threat. All dog owners need to be responsible for the care and well being of their animals and the community they live in.

Been in love with this breed for over 30yrs. I’ve worked with rescue for over decade and I’ve been bit more from dachshunds Chihuahuas and other small breeds. More then I ever have any larger breed. Not saying it can’t happen, just saying all dogs bark, play and can bite.....

It's quite ignorant to ban a breed because poor pet ownership. How can anyone or sanctioned body ban a certain breed of pet due to the poor handeling/training of a few. . Ignorance at its finest

I grew up with pit bulls from the time I was a newborn until I left home at 18. They was the sweetest dogs I ever had. The only dog that I have ever been attacked by was a Jack Russell terrier and that dog tore up the back of my leg.

I have been a delivery driver in Augusta for 6 years and have never had trouble with a pitbull. They are the sweetest and some of my most favorite dogs to see on a delivery. We have to end this ban, it is just unfair.

My dog didn't have a mean bone in his body. It's all depends on how you raise them, any dog.

This ban is silly and unjustified. Just like with any other living creature the environment you are raised in will dictate the way you act. Dogs are loving and trainable... all they want is to love you and please you... so please don't tell me that a pity is more likely to hurt me than any little dog breed... the pit's I know are just big babies... products of their environment
