Final supporters
This is a petition to get the LPN (Licensed practical nursing) program offered here in Labrador west. There is a high demand for this course and its difficult for family's with kids and without kids to leave and pay for schooling outside of their home. It would be great if we could get some more programs offered here at our new college.

With a new hospital and an old one sitting vacant (which could possibly be used as a residency and training center/school, thinking along the lines of St.Anthony) wouldn't it be an alternative for training nurses and doctors?
It would be an ideal situation for the people of Labrador to be able to stay at home & go to school & stay in our own towns to work because there's always a shortage of nurses , it's really expensive to live here otherwise.
I have always wanted to be a nurse, but due to time, money, children it seem time slipped by so fast. If this was put into our CONA college in Lab west I would one of the first to place my name in the enrollment.
I think this would be fantastic. I know of a few women who had to leave their families ( some mothers) to go do a course in Goose Bay or NL. Clearly it is a popular program and I just think that options should be given to those who love here in Labrador City. Who knows, some of them may even be able to work at our hospital to if they wish to do so.
Our college needs more than mining!!! With a state of the art new hospital right next door, nursing courses would just make sense!! We need more nurses, our hospital is very understaffed!!!

We are a town full of (tuition) money and hundreds of students eager to learn new skills. Not everyone wants to be apart of industrial trade and that's not all that own town needs. We need nurses, educators, and many other community service providers. Our college could at least help us obtain some other skills aside from the mining industry.
