We, the parents of Coventry Hills School, petition the school to allow all students to play at lunch recess with their peers.
Currently, we have a pod system in place. There are 3 pods and in each one there are Grade 1,2 and 3's. One pod of mixed grades goes out to play at 12:00 while a second pod is eating their lunch. Then at 12:25 the first pod goes out to play while the second pod comes in to eat. The third pod is split and half go out together to play and half stay in and eat. This means your child only gets to play with half the children in her grade at lunch recess.
I propose that all children go out together to the playground at the lunch recess. Or if that is not possible for the Grade 1's to eat first then go out and play, followed by the Grade 2/3's playing first then going in to eat lunch.
The feedback from parents about the current pod system has been overwhelming. I am currently reaching out to the school board to present our proposed alternatives.

The momentum is incredible. It is clear that we all want the kids playing together again.

Ridiculous. Let them all out at once so they can actually be kids. School is supposed to be about socializing too.

PLEASE fix this! It makes no sense to split them up like that. Just let the older kids play when the younger ones eat.

My son is always crying that he cant see his best friend at recess because they are in different pods. This system is just making things hard for them.
