Did you know that our kids have only 40 minutes between lunch and recess combined? And if our children don't rush through their lunch in time, they lose out on recess!!
This is unhealthy on so many levels:
5 year old children need to run around; they have to let that energy out to be able to focus for the rest of the day.
Our children are either not finishing their lunch because they don't have time, or rushing and eating too quickly so that they can go outside. Either way, it's not creating a healthy eating environment for them.
This petition is to have two separate and distinct class periods, one for lunch and one for recess. Recess time should NOT be contingent on lunchtime, and should not be taken away from our children under any circumstances. They NEED recess!
Please sign this petition to let Brandt director Sandra Rodriguez know that a change needs to be made.

Seriously? 5 year olds need to move. My son comes home so frustrated because he never gets to play. Let them have both lunch and recess, they are babies not robots.
