Pitbulls,
The most misjudged breed of dog worldwide Pitbulls unfortunately are known to society as vicious monsters bred to kill and MANY laws are set around this judgmental stereotype. If people were judged only by what they were capable of then all of us would be thrown in a jail cell from birth to death. If you think about it it makes absolutely no sense. I could kill you and could kill me easily but few of us have the motivation to do something like that and it is no different with Pitbulls and I am in no way saying that Pitbulls don't have the capability to hurt someone but few have a reason to do that. Pitbulls never have this motivation from birth and this behavior is brought out by abuse and suffering. Yes Denver is not the absolute best place to own a dog that can be used for dog fighting which can result in some steady income financially that could possibly be used for the purchasing of illegal narcotics but, we can't outlaw something just because of hypothetical possibilities and even before the law was passed Dog fights were not a problem in Denver. My proposal is that we legalize the ownership of a Pitbull in Denver but, certain steps must be taken before adopting or purchasing a Pitbull such as background checks, home and neighborhood assessments, ETC.
I am currently compiling a list of personal stories about responsible ownership to send directly to city council members. Post this link on your Facebook page and email your local representative today to tell them that breed bans do not improve public safety.

I have been around and have owned many dogs including pits. It's all about how you raise a dog. I have encountered many scary situations involving dogs and all of them were not by a pit bull. Pitvulls are known for there loyalty and kindness. People are the ones who should be punished for abuse not an animal that's a victim of abuse. Any dog that is aggressive and puts anyone or thing in the hospital should be taken from its owner its their fault they behave as such. My little brother was maulled by a doberman pincher and my boyfriend by a saint Bernard that doesn't mean both those breeds should be banned that means the owner need to be charged with animal cruelty,

I've known a lot of pitbulls and all of them have been sweethearts. I heard about this since I just moved and was very upset by it

THIS IS STUPID. Stop punishing the dogs for the bad owners. My neighbor has a golden retriever that is way worse than any pitbull I know.

My pit is the biggest baby ever. He sleeps in my bed every night and is scared of the vacuum cleaner. Ridiculous that these dogs get a bad rep.
