Lee High School, formerly Robert E. Lee High School(Located in 6529 Beverly Hill St, Houston, TX 77057) has the most outrageous arrival and dismissal schedule. Students must arrive to school @7:30 in order to be in class on time, which is not possible because of the traffic in school. Our dismissal time is @4:15, sometimes even minutes after the dismissal time set, which is completely unfair. This means we have to be in school for 8 hours and 45 minutes. When other schools, such as Lamar High School, go in @7:35 and are dismissed @2:45, according to the HISD Lamar High School website. That's only 7 hours and 10 minutes.That means we're in school for an extra hour and 35 minutes. Students don't get the opportunity to interact with friends outside of school or to spend time with their families as much during the week. Many teachers even leave a lot of homework assignments even though classes are about an hour and 30 minutes long. Many students can't even make it to work on time due to this ridiculous schedule. Our student body shouldn't feel pressured or stressed because of school. CHANGE OUR BELL SCHEDULE OR WE WILL RIOT!

The administration remains silent on our long hours but I am currently drafting a formal letter to the school board detailing how this schedule blocks our ability to work. Me as a student of lee high school i think its pretty unfair. i'm in one of the after school activity's, and man suck's that we get out of school at 4:15 and knowing we can only practice atleast for 45 minutes because the sun goes away. whenever practices should last minimum 2 hours straight. this website might not even work out for all of us but things really need to change in here. Just imagine yall in our shoes. nothing but getting stressed all the time please listen to all of us would really mean alot!
This dismissal time is nonsensical! Look at most high schools in HISD and you'll see that they get out at 3:15 or earlier. The fact we get out at 4:15 isn't right for STUDENTS AND TEACHERS! I understand that the focus is on students, but teachers have lives too. Just like students, they have families and duties outside of school. I come to class and sometimes the teachers look burn't the hell out. Give everyone some slack and let students AND teachers out at 3:15! Everyone will benefit from this.
Other school get out at 2:45, 3:15, and 3:30. Not fair that we get out at 4:15. By the way, they take an incredible long time on the announcements, so we leave at like 4:17
I also have to work right after school so I don't enough time to get to work, I have to rush and sometimes gets late. It affects me badly.

Lee was bs, everybody there was bs, the teacher's, from the staff, to the students,. They know they better change it or mf really gone RIOT UP THERE.

it has been scientifically proven that sitting in chairs can damage someone's life spawn. You kids have to sit down in school for 8 hours and 45 minutes? i suggest you move schools cause you are seriously damaging your health. Obesity is a huge problem in the United States and being in High School, only sitting till 4:15? you should at least be able to go out for a break at your schools track or something.
