Lawrence Jackson, II - Case Reopening
John F. Healey, Jr., District Attorney Fort Bend County 301 Jackson Street Richmond, TX 77469 Re: Petition on behalf of friends of the late Lawrence Jackson, II Dear District Attorney Healey: Be it known that this petition serves as a request to re-open the case of the late Lawrence Jackson, II due to the untimely and inadequate manner in which it was handled. A son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend was taken from this earth due to the recklessness of another individual. At this time, your cooperation and efforts are needed in successfully prosecuting this person. Based on Texas traffic laws--specifically, the Texas Transportation Code Chapters 49, 544, 545, and 547, which deal with Reckless Driving, Speeding, Unlawful Vehicle Modifications, etc.--some type of ticket, punishment and/or justification should have been issued based on the neglect of the driver who struck and killed Lawrence. The late Lawrence Jackson, II was a God-fearing man who was taken from us because of another person\'s recklessness. L.J., as he is affectionately known, worked hard to help those in need and endeavored to live an honorable life. District Attorney Healey, now the duty is bestowed upon you to continue in the tradition and legacy that L.J. embedded in all of us. We are aware that the last day to re-open this case is the 20th day of May 2007. Please do not let this date pass by without investigating this matter again. We hope that you will provide some type of justice for the life that was taken from those who loved him so dearly. Respectfully yours, Friends of the late Lawrence LJ Jackson, II
