Mr. Burke was a decorated and highly respected United States Marine Corps Reconnaissance Marine. He was a brother to a tight-knit group of men within the Marine Corps Reconnaissance and Sniper community, and an upstanding citizen whose life was senselessly taken during a violent criminal act. His honorable service to this nation, his unwavering character, and the circumstances of his death compel serious public concern and careful judicial scrutiny.
This letter is not written to presume guilt, interfere with due process, or influence the independent judgment of your offices. Rather, it is a formal request that, should the accused be found guilty under Missouri law, all applicable statutes and penalties be applied fully and without exception. Equal justice under the law demands no less.
Crimes of this nature—deliberate acts of lethal violence—strike at the foundation of public trust and community safety. They warrant thorough investigation, transparent prosecution, and firm accountability consistent with the laws of the State of Missouri. It is a sad day in America when a Recon Marine's life is taken on his home soil. Semper Fi, Brother, RIP.
Retired US Navy & Retired Law Enforcement. Too many times our veterans are preyed upon by criminals. Too many vets have lost thier lives at home.
A senseless and tragic death. The perpetrators should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!
This man and his brother’s fault for this country made it through hell just to come home and have some sorry POS break into his house and killing no we need justice one way or another
I served with him and he did not deserve this, prosecute to the fullest of the law. He was better than the four charged.

This whole thing is just sick. A man fights for his country overseas just to get taken out like this back home. Lock them up and throw away the key.
