Housing just confirmed they are dropping the machine fees and building the costs into our base rent starting next term. We forced their hand by keeping the pressure on for months. Stay alert as we transition to this new system so we can ensure the agreement holds up.

I wouldn't mind having to pay an extra fee for laundry if I didn't have to swipe my card because with the way the card system works. If I don't have 6 dollars in my bank i would get over drafted my account when I have enough for a wash and dry cycle but get an extra 35 dollars out for overdraft fee.

I work within housing as a Resident Advisor and I can sympathize with the residents 100% about the $1.50 per load/per machine fee is outrageously high for a college student who most likely is unemployed.

Ive lived in the residence halls for 3 years now, and I have to do 2 loads of laundry a week, adding up to $6 a week. Thats a lot of money that could just come from our housing payment. I could have been saving that to pay off my loans, or get a car, or even buy food for myself.

Laundry shouldn't be so expensive for student who are out living on their own for the first time. Doing laundry in the real world doesn't cost 3 freaking dollars a load if it's at your home. It's all in the bills, we should make it included in the housing fees

I feel like free laundry should be included. In my dorm none of the card readers ever work and I never have $3.00 in quarters for even 1 load of laundry much less 4 loads or more. It gets so irritating when the card readers don't work. This is an on going thing and is getting really old.

As a parent of a MSU student I must agree! Discount it and but it into the housing fee or make it free. My daughter has had issue with the machines in her dorm and if other campuses are making it free MSU should follow suit.
