The stop sign that was at the intersection of Summer St and Partridge Rd in Lanesborough has been taken down. As a resident of Lanesborough, I feel the stop sign should be put back up because:

1) It is a safety issue. Making the turn from Partridge Rd onto Summer St is extremely difficult due to the lack of visibility of cars coming up Summer St and the speed of which the cars come up Summer St. With the stop sign in place, cars making that turn have increased visibility of potential cars coming up Summer St, as the cars were required to stop at that intersection.

2) When the stop sign was in place, cars were required to stop at said intersection (of Summer St and Partridge Rd). This allowed a break in the speed they were going. Since the stop sign has been taken down I have noticed an increase in speed of cars traveling up Summer St, which is of special concern as Summer St continues on past Lanesborough Elementary School.

Replacing the stop sign at the intersection of Summer St and Partridge Rd would increase safety and visibility, as well as reduce speeds on Summer St, including the portion of road in front of Lanesborough Elementary School.
