The city has officially confirmed the project at Conners Island will move forward as a primary development priority. WE NEED NEW SPORTS FACILITIES FOR OUR KIDS. HOW MANY OF YOU ARE TIRED OF TRAVELING TO OTHER CITIES FOR STATE OF THE ART FACILITES. WE SHOULD BE THE LEADER IN SPORTS FACILITES IN NORTH ALABAMA!

THE CITY OF GUNTERSVILLE HAS 40+ ACRES OF UNRESTRICTED LAND AT CONNORS ISLAND THAT WOULD BE IDEAL FOR A MULTIPLEX BASEBALL, SOFTBALL,SOCCER, FOOTBALL, AND ANY AND ALL OTHER SPORTS THAT NEED FIELDS . IT WOULD SUPPORT A 6- 8 BASEBALL/SOFTBALL FIELD COMPLEX AND A 4-6 SOCCER/FOOTBALL FIELDS.

ASK THE MAYOR TO COMMIT TO THIS AND MAKE IT HER FIRST PRIORITY. BEING THE ELECTIONS ARE UPCOMING, NOW IS THE TIME TO TAKE ACTION FOR OUR KIDS AND CHILDREN'S ATHLETIC FUTURES!

JOIN US IN SIGNING THIS PETITION AND HAVING A CITY RESOLUTION PASSED MAKING THE SPORTSPLEX THE MAYORS #1 PRIORITY WITH SUPPORT OF A PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP AND COMMITMENT OF FUNDS BY AUGUST 1 2016.

Will this facility have an indoor pool? Our swimmers need a better facility too. We have a High School swim team that does not even have a place to practice except a few times a week. We travel out of town to swim and PAY other Facitlities. I would love to see Guntersville have a year round swim program.

I see so many beautiful sports complexes while traveling with my kids. They are amazing!! The things I have heard about our fields are quite embarrassing!! We need this, our kids would benefit and our city would as well.

Long overdue. There is not a single full size soccer field in Guntersville. The revenue that this could bring into our city would be significant.

Traveled to South Carolina, Michigan, Texas, Huntsville, Birmingham, Tennessee for Softball tournaments and all parking spaces are filled. Softball is huge now. Teams are traveling to many states to play. Guntersville is beautiful and would be a huge attraction.

As the VP of Guntersville youth football I would love to see a place that our kids can be proud of. I think it would be a great way to increase revenue for our city as well.

This town needs a sports Plex for tournament's. It seems to me that having a complex such as this will not only allow tournament play, but hundreds more people coming into the city purchasing gas, staying in our motels, extra taxes from sales, it's a no brainier!!!

This is definitely needed to enhance our beautiful city. It would absolutely be an asset to the sports minded families (especially the soccer lovers)!

We too have heard some embarrassingly negative comments from visiting families who travel here for games. They all expect "Lake Guntersville" to have premier facilities and arrive to find stripped down, bare minimum facilities. I know the original plan for Conners Island was an industrial complex. The area definitely would benefit from increased and diversified economic development. However, years have passed and there has been no progress in the industrial arena . . . so why not take advantage of the area and use it for a purpose that will have a long-lasting and positive impact for the community. Cullman probably has the nicest ball parks close to Guntersville. There are mini- and enclosed playgrounds by the dugouts to assist families with mulitple/small children who find themselves practically living at the ball fields, restrooms, walking trails, pavilions, and so on. Granted, Guntersville is a smaller town, but there is no reason it cannot become a destination town for ball club events. Post contracts for the work online and let local contractors bid for the work to keep costs down. There is an abundance of talented, capable contractors locally who could work together to help build a must-see complex for Guntersville if given the opportunity.
