Cmon, lets be honest. We all love softball and we're gonna play it for as long as we can, and we know some injuries are inevitable, but nobody can afford getting hurt playing softball... really.

It's SOFTBALL! As we yell at the guy who takes it too seriously trying to argue a "travesty of the game" play. It's just not worth not being able to ride your bike, type on your keyboard, play your instrument, pick up your kids, or have your wife yell at you for breaking your arm in REC Softball.

I love playing baseball/softball, and I'm as hardcore and loud-mouthed as the next guy, but I'm sorry... I'm just losing the desire to have a ball as hard as a rock screamed at me at shortstop, 2nd, 3rd, even OF line drives off the bumpy grass and taking a bad hop on a poorly maintained public field and getting one to the chest, face, wrist, ankle, knee...

The ball still was well hit, I never saw an injury, and the game was just as fun, if not more, because it felt like a more aggressive game. There is no reason to prove anything to anybody because of a hard ball, and frankly, it seems like everyone, including umps, opposing teams, fans, and wives and husbands alike want a softer ball.

So lets ask for a change from our LA PARKS and REC and just downgrade the hardness of the ball in place for a CLINCHER or some other alternative.
