As for many families in our community, baseball is a great part of our family life. Watching our children learn and participate in the sport known as "America's Favorite Pastime" is rewarding on so many levels. With that said, this year was a bit unpleasant, due to our league opting for "kid pitch" rather than coach pitch or the use of a pitching machine. Not only were many of the kids injured by erratic pitching, they were scared to even attempt standing at the plate, waiting for a pitch to be thrown. Boys at this age are just now learning and developing their throwing skills. How can our children learn about the fundamentals of the game, when they are scared to participate? I feel, and I hope most of you agree, in order for our children to learn and develop their baseball talents and abilities in a safe environment, the utilization of coach pitch or a pitching machine is a must. Not only will our children benefit from the accuracy of the ball moving towards and over the plate (allowing them to be more consistent with their batting), they will also build and gain more confidence when going to the plate to bat (which will help them as the move up in divisions). Overall, utilizing coach pitch or a pitching machine for our boys' Jr. Midget league division ensures that they will be learning, be safe, and most of all they will be enjoying the sport and having fun!
Please help support the Early division of TTAB using coach pitch or a pitching machine for the Jr. Midget league by signing and sharing this petition.

My son was terrified of the ball all season. It took all the fun out of it for him and he barely wanted to show up to games. Use the machine so they can actually hit the ball.
