If I need something important done I hire someone with knowledge and experience, as we have done with the Board of Health. I do not want amateurs making decisions about my medical care. This is “malpractice” in the part of the County mayor and Commission.
Science & evidence-based decision making by experts and doctors should drive public health. To ignore experts who are held to a high standard by their professional field for the sake of political maneuvering would be a social harm and a public disgrace.
As a nurse practitioner on the front lines of this pandemic, I appreciate the knox board of health efforts to use science and the knowledge so far gained fighting this epidemic to help keep us safe and reduce the burden on our medical system.
I sincerely appreciate the Knox County Board of Health and support their actions throughout this pandemic. I rely on them for safety advice especially when there is so much unreliable information being passed around from unqualified sources.
I have much more faith in the Board of Health's medical experts to lead us during a public health pandemic than a county commission comprised of people who are not experts in the field and seem adverse to taking any advice from public health officials.
Maintain the County Board authority to protect from COVID doubters.
As long as those business owners also have a modicum of proven medical expertise, I would have no objection. I also think they should be non-voting members of the BOH as their motives may not best serve public health policy.

Please allow the health board do it’s job. They are the professionals in this mater. I too own a business that has been impacted from Covid and I would like to get back to work sooner than later. If the board can set mandates we will get through this sooner.
