In a recent newsletter, the HOA Board of Directors published a note indicating that they will start enforcing this rule and fining homeowners $100 starting July 15. They are proposing some sort of "enclosures" to hide the trash cans. In the history of this neighborhood, this has never been a major complaint or issue. In fact, the addition of "enclosures" is going to create an even more unsightly problem than trash cans because they will all be of varying materials, colors, sizes, etc.
By signing this petition, you are asking the Board of Directors of the Kingdom Ridge Homeowners Association to not enforce this rule and instead target specific offending homeowners with warning letters or fines.

I've been in KR since 09 and agree that garbage can issue is rediculous. There are many more visual issues and violations like lack of fences and home repairs that should take precedence.
As long as the cans are uniform across the neighborhood, I don't mind seeing my neighbor's trash can.
First, cans are uniformed. Second, you can get another can for $65 (which is what we did) from the city. Third, TRASH IS NOT A COMMUNITY ISSUE BUT THE LACK OF RESPONSIBILTY FROM HOME CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES which I made very clear to Kristen during a call to complain. I have masonry bags, clear huge wrapping, their lunch, toilet paper from the portables, etc. As far as cans overflowing...this is just what it is. Sometimes during a baby shower, birthday party, yard work, holiday pick up, etc. it is going to happen. You can have 100 rules and life is still going to happen. Adding a TRASHCAN structure is not adding value to the home. HOA needs to use time and energy towards maintenance of the grounds (for example you CANNOT EVEN READ KINGDOM RIDGE AT ONE ENTRANCE) and fix the roads. The fine is excessive. You might charge $15.00 for a trashcan issue and then $100.00 for a trailer routinely being in driveway. Also, WHY DOES HOA HAVE RULES AND THEN PICK AND CHOOSE WHEN THEY ARE GOING TO FOLLOW SOMETHING AND WHICH ONES TO FOLLOW? It is stupid to have rules and then go...well, let's not follow this one for two years. For can enclosures....are there rules there, too? Like, how big, must match your brick, must be covered, etc. So, we have rules on top of rules. Then it is another structure that must be maintained. We built our house a year ago. Swanson KNEW this was a rule. Why not during the build ask us if we want a small structure added onto the house? Like, instead of fining people for boats...why not provide a place that's gated for us? The person can pay a rental fee. Why not neighborhood park for the children? Why not a neighborhood pool for everyone to enjoy? There is a surplus of OUR money sitting there...why not use it to enhance the appeal of the neighborhood by adding neighborhood amenities? OR...if the trashcan issue is truly that BIG OF A HUGE DEAL....take OUR MONEY THAT'S IN SURPLUS, hire a contractor, and build them? As far as people pa

Living at 5022 Pillar Dr and this is just a money grab. My trash cans are kept behind a bush and you can barely see them anyway. Enough with these silly rules.
