An Post has officially reversed the decision to close our local branch. This outcome reflects the commitment of the 345 individuals who joined this effort to protect our essential services. We will continue to monitor the situation to ensure this commitment remains honored.

We need as much help as possible to ensure we Keep Our Post Office in Kilcar,Co.Donegal.
An Post promised they wouldnt close any rural offices in towns that had population of 500+. We will be collecting signatures and sending to An Post to reverse their decision immediately. The community should at a minimum be given the opportunity of more than 15days! to process this and seek out whether any other party could continue this Essential Service in our parish.

The post office has always been the beating heart of our little village, it's the social hub for many of the older people. Taking it away could easily increase social issues, such as isolation, loneliness, and anxiety to name a few... We simply need to save our post office!
We need a Post Office in Kilcar. This has been the hub of the town, a great service for years, where all the local community met up, Where you could also have a conversation in Irish, which has been the case for young and old.
Please save kilcar post office, it’s been a valuable asset to the community for several years, and will be a big loss to a striving rural community. This community has worked hard to build successful businesses in rural Donegal, despite recessions, falls in tourism and the building trade.
A vibrant Gaeltacht parish with a population of approximately 1000 Crazy decision without consulting local community.
Kilcar post office should not be closed down, it is one of the busiest post offices weekly where one the elderly get their pensions at the end of the week, two it’s handy for buying things that you don’t have to travel far, three it’s close to those who don’t have access to travel away from home to get what they need.
I am getting postcards weekly asking me to use the Post Office more! .........
Somebody will see sense surly and keep it open

This is an essential part of rual Ireland and a badly needed facility. No regular public transport available for the elderly etc so making them treck 3 to 7 miles to nearby towns is unacceptable! Another blow for forgotten rual Ireland .
