SAVE THE SURF CITY POST OFFICE
In late July the U. S. Postal Service announced plans to conduct studies of approximately 3,700 post offices nationwide to determine their viability and future.
The Surf City Post Office will be one of the post offices evaluated.
Mayor Zander Guy is working closely with Congressman Mike McIntyre on efforts to keep the Surf City Post Office open. We feel our Post Office is an important component of day-to- day living which offer valuable services to residents and businesses.   We need your help and support in our efforts to keep our Post Office Open. We have been told we need to have citizen signatures supporting our efforts and need to have this done by the end of August 2011 in order for Congressman McIntyre to submit to the necessary agencies studying the closures.   We the users of the Surf City, North Carolina Post Office wish to inform the U. S. Postal Service we are OPPOSED to the closure of the Surf City Post Office

The feedback from local businesses has been draining because it shows just how much this office keeps our town running. I am currently spending my evenings drafting formal requests for transparency but the silence from the postal service is exhausting.

TOTAL GARBAGE. They want to cut services while raising prices? Leave our post office alone.

Too many people rely on this office for their daily mail. Sending everyone to the next town over is just not fair for the elderly folks in town.

Just another example of the government not caring about small towns. Keep it open.
