Kids Corner Waiting Room at the WNY VA Healthcare System is closing as of Sept. 30, 2015, with no word on whether it will be funded in the future.

The Buffalo VA Medical Center was given a two year childcare pilot by Congress as part of the Caregivers and Veterans Omnibus Health Service Act of 2010.

The Kids Korner offers Veterans a safe engaging care for their children, ages ranging from 6 weeks to 12years of age while they have appointments at the VA.

The facility is currently equipped with Cribs, Toys, a flat Screen TV for child developmental programs, a sink, numerous books. The room is childproof and the staff provided by Skies the Limit Academy.

Please voice your option so that we can continue to provide excellent care for our Veterans so they can continue to get the care they need.

Updates

September 5, 2014

I have been contacting the hospital administration all week to demand a reopening time frame. Call your local representative today and tell them that cutting childcare services at the VA is unacceptable.

September 5, 2014

The momentum behind this effort shows that our community refuses to let this essential service disappear. Now email your local representative to demand they prioritize funding for the Kids Korner. Post this link on Facebook to get the word out to other veterans who depend on this care.

OK - We are getting more petition signatures on and off this website! Great to see the word is spreading. Even our local news channel and a radio station is on board with our cause. Please keep spreading the word - If your feeling more motivated, you can write to your local representatives, urging to keep this small childcare room at the VA open - Its not too much to ask for is it?
